How to Use Website Technology Checker
Enter a page URL
Paste a public page URL; a bare domain defaults to HTTPS.
Review detected groups
Review CMS, backend, theme, framework, server/CDN and services where matching signals appear.
Check the evidence
Open each evidence list, distinguish direct signals from inference and verify consequential findings.
Which signals does the checker inspect?
KitoTool fetches one public HTML page and matches signals in its response. The report is a snapshot of the entered URL, not a site-wide inventory.
HTTP headers and cookie names
Server, X-Powered-By and some cookie names can indicate a server, CDN or backend. The Server header may describe a fronting CDN or proxy.
HTML and meta generator
Markers such as meta generator, __NEXT_DATA__ or Shopify.theme can reveal a CMS or framework in the returned HTML.
Asset URLs
CSS/JavaScript paths such as /wp-content/ or /_next/static/ can be matched as clues; the tool does not execute page JavaScript.
Public WordPress theme data
If HTML exposes a WordPress theme path, the checker may read public style.css on the same host to verify its name, version, author or parent theme.
Interpret confidence and missing results
High, medium and low rate the strength of matched rules, not the probability that a technology is in use. Open “View evidence” to inspect a specific marker; CMS-based inferences need further verification.
If a lookup fails, check that the page is public, returns HTML and uses HTTP/HTTPS on port 80/443. Some sites block automated requests; a fetch error says nothing about their stack.
