How to remove an image background

Choose an image with a clear subject

Choose one JPG, PNG or WebP image under 20 MB. A clear subject against a distinct background is easier to review.

When the result needs work

Hair or edges are missing

Try a brighter, sharper image with more contrast from its background. Subject separation is automatic; manual edge editing is not available.

The download has a white background

Select the transparent swatch before downloading. White or custom colors are baked into the file.

Model download is slow or memory runs out

Check your connection on the first run, close other tabs or try a smaller image. The browser may cache the model for later use.

Where is the image processed?

Background removal and PNG creation run in your browser; your chosen image is not sent to an KitoTool removal API. The AI library and model load from external sources, so the first run needs an internet connection. Sample images load from KitoTool.
