Choose a background for your image

After AI separates the subject, you can try several backgrounds on the same image. The result is a composite image; the tool does not generate a new scene from a prompt.

What size is the downloaded image?

Preview and export use the same size: the subject image’s aspect ratio with a maximum long edge of 2,048 px. JPG, PNG and WebP all include the chosen background; PNG here is not transparent. The Quality slider applies only to JPG/WebP.

Check the composite before using it

Open the downloaded file and check the subject edges, background, pixel size and format where you will use it. To keep a transparent PNG cutout for another editor, use Remove Background.

If the composite needs work

Hair or product edges look wrong
Try a source photo with clearer contrast between the subject and old background. There is no mask brush, so review the downloaded image before use.
Your photo is cropped or blur has no effect
The uploaded background fills the subject image’s frame; choose a photo with room near its edges. Background photo blur works on uploaded photos, not colors or gradients.
The image or AI model will not load
Choose JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB and about 50 megapixels or less. The first use needs a connection for the library and model; if memory is low, try a smaller image or close other tabs.

Where is the image processed?

Subject and background images are read, separated, composited and exported in your browser; this workflow does not send image content to an KitoTool processing API. The browser downloads the AI library and model from external sources when needed; the page still has general analytics.
