Download a public Facebook video to your device
Paste a public video or reel link to see the MP4 versions currently available from the source. Choose SD or HD when offered and download it; the tool is free and does not ask for a Facebook login.
Paste a link and find available video files
From a Facebook link to an MP4 file
Get the video link
Open a video or reel you are allowed to save. Use Share to copy the link to that specific video, rather than a profile or group page.
Find MP4 files
Paste an HTTPS facebook.com link above and select Find download options. The tool looks only for MP4 files accessible through that public link; no Facebook account or password is requested.
Download and check
If options appear, choose an available Download SD MP4 or Download HD MP4 button. Open the file afterwards to check its picture, sound and identity.
Choose from the files actually found
| Result | Action | Check |
|---|---|---|
| SD without HD | Download SD MP4; the tool does not create an HD version. | Check picture clarity and audio in the saved file. |
| Both SD and HD | Choose HD for potentially clearer video, or SD to try a smaller file. | HD/SD are source labels; check the actual file rather than assuming a fixed resolution. |
| No MP4 returned | Check whether the video opens while signed out and is still public, then retry. | A post, profile, restricted group video or removed clip may not produce a file. |
If the link or download stops working
- Invalid link
- Copy the URL for one specific video or reel. The tool recognizes facebook.com/reel/…, /watch/?v=…, /video.php?v=… and /videos/… links with a video ID.
- No file found
- Try opening the video while signed out. A reel may be shared only with friends or a group; Facebook lets the creator choose its audience. See Facebook’s reel audience guide.
- Download fails
- Expired or failing download link: select Find download options again using the original video URL. If a saved file does not play, try the other available quality.
Download scope and data flow
The page sends your link to KitoTool’s server, which checks Facebook’s public video embed. When an MP4 stream is returned, the download button routes the file through KitoTool to your browser. The tool asks for no login and cannot access friends-only, private-group or story content. HD, SD and audio depend on the source stream; not every link can be downloaded.
Save your own videos or content you have permission to use. If you need a copy of all content you posted, Facebook also offers an account information download tool. Read Facebook’s guidance.
