Choose PNGs
Choose up to 30 PNG files; this page does not accept JPG or WebP sources.
Choose a setting
Keep PNG output. Choose 100% for lossless optimization, or try 80% and lower the palette setting if a smaller file is needed.
Review and download
Compare file sizes and transparent edges in the preview, then download PNG files or a ZIP. If the new file is no smaller, the original PNG is kept.
Choose how to reduce PNG size
This page accepts PNG files only and preselects PNG output. The 100% setting does not reduce the color palette; settings from 10–99% may reduce colors for a smaller file. The percentage is a processing setting, not the expected file-size saving.
| You need | Choose in the tool | Check the result |
|---|---|---|
| Keep decoded image colors | Keep PNG output and set Output quality to 100% for lossless optimization. | Compare sizes; an already optimized image may be kept unchanged, including its original metadata. |
| Shrink a logo, icon or screenshot further | Try 80%, then lower it if needed. A simple image may fit a palette without changing colors; a complex image may change. | Inspect small text, gradients and partially transparent edges on light and dark backgrounds before downloading. |
| Meet a destination KB/MB limit | Select By target size, enter a limit for each image and keep PNG output. | Check each file’s reached/not reached status. A very low target may be impossible; the result need not equal the entered number. |
Check transparency and detail
PNG output can retain transparency, but palette reduction may change colors or soft edges. Zoom into text, shadows and cutout edges; if you see banding or rough edges, raise the setting or try 100%. Choosing JPG in the output selector replaces transparent areas with white.
Understand the downloaded file
The tool keeps pixel dimensions and shows before-and-after size for each PNG. If re-encoding is no smaller, the original PNG is downloaded and its metadata may remain. Download files individually or as a ZIP, then open the result where you plan to use it.
If the PNG does not shrink or looks wrong
- File size does not decrease
- The image may already be optimized. Try a lower palette setting from the original and compare detail; if the destination accepts WebP, consider changing format and checking alpha and file size.
- The KB/MB target is not reached
- Raise the limit or accept fewer colors if the image remains usable. This tool does not reduce pixel width or height; use Image Resizer first if dimensions must change too.
- Transparent edges or animation differ
- Raise the setting and check edges on two background colors. An animated PNG may become still when re-encoded; keep the original if motion matters.
Where are PNG files processed?
Compression reads and creates files in your browser without sending image content to an KitoTool compression API. The page still makes general requests and loads a library for ZIP downloads. The original on your device is unchanged; use a dedicated metadata tool and verify the result if EXIF/GPS removal matters.
