How to Crop an Image in 3 Steps
Upload an Image
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device. It appears immediately in the editor.
Choose a Ratio or Pixel Area
Choose a free crop or preset ratio. To keep a specific pixel area, enter its width and height within the source image dimensions.
Position and Download
Move the frame or its handles, check the selected pixel size, then download PNG, JPG or WebP. Quality applies to JPG and WebP only.
Choose a ratio or pixel-sized crop area?
Ratio for composition
Choose 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 or another ratio to shape the area you keep. A ratio locks the frame shape; output pixel dimensions depend on how much of the source image you select. Move the frame to position your subject.
Pixels for the area to keep
Enter width and height when you need a specific area of the image. Both values are limited by the source dimensions. With ratio lock on, changing one side adjusts the other to match the selected ratio.

Size and content
The tool exports the area inside the crop frame at that selection’s pixel size, rounded to whole pixels. Everything outside is removed. To resize the entire image or make the crop a different pixel size, use Image Resizer after cropping.
Format and quality
PNG can preserve transparency; JPG uses a white background for transparent areas; WebP can preserve alpha. The file is encoded again from decoded image pixels, so source metadata, file size and identical image quality are not guaranteed. Quality only affects JPG and WebP.
If the crop is not what you need
- The requested dimensions do not fit
- A crop cannot be larger than its source image. If you need a file larger than the source or need different pixel dimensions without removing content, use Image Resizer.
- The subject falls outside the frame
- Move the selection or drag its eight resize handles. If the current ratio is too restrictive, choose Free crop and adjust the area again.
Where is the input image processed?
A JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB and about 50 megapixels is read, cropped and encoded in your browser. This tool does not send the input image to KitoTool’s server. Check the download before using it where particular dimensions or file size are required.
