Paste text and choose a pattern to extract
Find the parts you need in three steps
Paste text
Type or paste the passage to scan. The tool uses only the text in this box; it does not read files or web pages.
Choose a pattern
Under Extract, choose numbers, hashtags, @mentions, quoted text or lines with a keyword. Enter a keyword only for the last option, then select Extract matches.
Review results
Each match appears on its own line in source order. Review the list, then select Copy or Download TXT; edit the input or option and run it again if needed.
Choose what to extract
| Need | Choose in the tool | Check the result |
|---|---|---|
| Digit sequences | Numbers | Codes, dates and decimals may all match; check separators before treating a match as a number. |
| Tags beginning with # | Hashtag | The # is included; repeated tags stay repeated. |
| Names beginning with @ | @ mentions | These are text patterns, not verified accounts; the part after @ in an email may also match. |
| Text inside quotation marks | Quoted text | Returns the inner text without the marks; try single or double quotation marks in the pasted passage. |
| Whole lines containing a phrase | Lines containing a keyword + enter a keyword | Returns whole matching lines, ignoring case; an empty keyword gives no results. |
If results are missing or unexpected
- No matches found
- Check the selected type and the #/@ or quotation marks in the text. For line filtering, enter a keyword and select Extract matches again.
- Unwanted matches
- The detector matches characters; digits in codes and the part after @ in email addresses can also appear. Review each line before copying or downloading.
