How to create a document from text
Enter a title and text
Paste text or use the sample. Start a line with #, ## or ### for headings, or - and 1. for lists. The preview updates as you edit.
Choose a format and layout
Choose one of five formats. For Word or PDF, set page size, orientation, margins and type. Page numbers apply only to PDF; Markdown and TXT do not use page layout settings.
Create and check the file
Select Create & download, open the file in a suitable app, then check headings, lists, accented text and the last page. The preview page count is only an estimate.
Choose a format for your next step
| What do you need? | Choose | Check after download |
|---|---|---|
| Keep editing in a word processor | Word (.docx) | Open the file and review headings, lists and margins. |
| Share a paginated document | PDF (.pdf) | Review the last page and page numbers if enabled. |
| Keep heading and list syntax in text | Markdown (.md) | Open in a Markdown reader; page settings do not apply. |
| Get a basic HTML page | HTML (.html) | Open in a browser and review headings, lists and type. |
| Reuse plain text elsewhere | TXT (.txt) | Check accented text and line breaks; fonts and margins are not saved. |
PDF keeps the page appearance, but its document content is placed as an image. If you need to select or edit the downloaded text, choose Word, HTML or TXT.
If the downloaded file differs from the preview
- The tool asks for content
- Enter a document title or some text, then try again.
- Pages differ from the preview
- The preview estimates page count. Open the downloaded DOCX/PDF, inspect the last page and adjust margins, type size or spacing if needed.
- Word or PDF will not generate
- These formats load libraries when you create the file. Check your connection and retry; split very long content into smaller parts. If you need the text now, choose Markdown, HTML or TXT.
Your browser draft
Your text and settings are saved in this browser and shared with the Text to Word/PDF pages. Use Clear on a shared device; keep the downloaded file because clearing browser data may remove the draft.
