The QR image is read in your browser · The original stays unchanged
Or drag and drop a QR image here
One PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF image, up to 12 MBCamera access requires HTTPS or localhost and your permission.

After decoding, the tool shows the content and available actions.
QR code content
This is an on-device URL structure check, not a malicious-site verification service.
How to Scan a QR Code Online
Choose an image or camera
Choose or drop a QR image, or open the Camera tab and grant access.
Keep the whole QR code in view
Use a clear image or point your camera so all four QR corners remain visible.
Read the result before using it
Check the original text and URL domain. The tool checks some structural signals; it does not verify that a website is safe.
Copy or choose an action
Copy the content, or use an available action to open a link, compose email or SMS, call a number or open a map.
Use a saved image or scan with your camera?
A screenshot or saved image
Choose, drop or paste one PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF image up to 12 MB. This helps when the QR code is already on the phone or computer you are using, without needing a second device to photograph the screen.
A code on paper or another screen
Open Use camera and grant browser permission. Keep all four corners in view; the camera stops after a code is decoded. If you cannot grant access or the camera fails, photograph the code and use Scan an image.
Read the result before opening a link
URL and domain
The original QR text and domain are displayed. The structure check only flags some patterns, including HTTP, IP addresses, short links and embedded URL credentials; “Structure looks normal” does not establish that a website is safe. If Open link is blocked, copy the content for a manual check.
WiFi, contacts and text
The tool parses some WiFi, email, phone, SMS, location and vCard/MECARD patterns to suggest relevant actions. WiFi details are only displayed for review or copying; the tool does not connect to a network. Unmatched content remains visible as original text.
If the QR code cannot be read
- Blurred, tiny or cropped QR image
- Try a clearer image with all four corners visible and little glare. If the code is tiny in a large image, crop closer and scan again; the tool reduces large images to an edge of at most 1,800 px before decoding. One scan returns one code, so separate codes if an image contains several.
- Camera or decoder unavailable
- The camera needs HTTPS or localhost and browser permission; check browser settings and other apps that may be using it. Decoding prefers the browser’s BarcodeDetector and uses CDN-hosted jsQR as a fallback; if neither is available, scanning cannot succeed.
Where are images and camera frames processed?
Images and camera frames are read and decoded in your browser; the tool does not send input images or QR content to KitoTool’s server. The page may load library code from a CDN. Verify a destination and its content before opening links, placing calls or sharing WiFi details.
