How to use Gmail dot variations
Enter your Gmail address
Use a personal address ending in @gmail.com. The tool cannot verify who owns the inbox.
Generate dotted spellings
Select “Generate variations” to view spellings. For long usernames, the list shows only the first 200 to keep the page usable.
Copy the spelling you need
Copy one line or the displayed list. To sort incoming mail, send a test message and check your inbox.
What do the dots change?
For personal @gmail.com addresses, Google ignores dots before the @. Dotted spellings of the same username reach one inbox and cannot create separate Gmail accounts. This rule does not apply to work or school Gmail addresses on custom domains, where dots can change the address.
Another website may accept, reject or normalize these spellings under its own rules. If you use one to receive a newsletter or identify a sender, test delivery before relying on it.
If a variation does not work as expected
- Address rejected
- Enter an @gmail.com address with letters, numbers and dots in the username. Plus tags and custom domains are outside this tool.
- The list stops at 200
- Long usernames have many dot placements. The tool shows and copies at most the first 200; the possible count appears above the list.
- Message missing from inbox
- Check every non-dot character, Spam and Gmail filters. This tool creates spellings; it does not send or verify mail.
